BCV was awarded GPP certificate
Building Community Voices (B.C.V) is a local organization, well-known as working on providing community organizing and community media skills, got a Certificate of compliance with all standards in the Standard of Governance and Professional Practices (GPP) last week.
In the 11th awarding ceremony on 15 Dec, BCV is one of six NGOs who completed standards of GPP on “CSO Good Governance and Sustainability”, which conducted at Diakonia Center, Phnom Penh.
The certificate was officially certified by the NGO Code Compliance Committee for a 3-year, period valid from 01 December 2017 to 30 November 2020.
After more than a year-long assessment conducted by the Governance and Professional Practice (GPP) team, BCV was awarded last week a Certificate of GPP for NGOs in Cambodia.
The NGO GPP recognized and appreciated BCV’s efforts in complying with the standards and being a role model for other NGOs, contributing to strengthening the NGO sector in Cambodia.
The assessment was carried out in six keys areas — Good Governance, Relationship and Communications, Financial Management, Accountability and Transparency, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources Management—which formed into 25 standards.
The NGO GPP is a tool that helps to ensure accountability and good governance in the NGO sector. It aims at promoting professionalism and good practice within NGOs operating in Cambodia. It is a certification scheme created by CCC in 2004 to develop a code of conduct compiling principle for the CSOs’ governance of its members.
This is the second time that BCV was awarded the NGO GPP Certificate since the first certificate was expired in September 2015.
