Job Announcement

Building Community Voices (BCV) is a local NGO established in 2007 to share resources, ideas, skills, and technologies that would enable the views of the local communities and the Indigenous community members to be heard through community media centers and local development initiatives in Cambodia. We are now looking for a strong and potential candidate for one position of Project Coordinator based in Kampot Province.

Project Coordinator: 1 position

Main Responsibilities:

  • Organize training and workshops for community facilitators to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Manage public forums, dialogues, and radio talk shows to facilitate communication between community members and government authorities.
  • Coordinate case studies and act as a consultant to advocate for community concerns at various levels.
  • Work closely with community media production teams (radio producers, journalists, and film crews).
  • Present BCV programs to local authorities and community members to increase awareness and engagement.
  • Analyze BCV’s effectiveness in the community to identify areas for improvement.
  • Organize visits to other provinces to conduct field assessments and support community facilitators.
  • Provide constructive feedback on BCV activities and programs to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Share information and experiences with relevant partners to strengthen collaborations.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly plans and schedules for the team of community facilitators.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to the Community Media Program Coordinator and Program Manager/Executive Director.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings and training in Phnom Penh as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental management or a related field
  • Experience working with NGOs
  • Strong advocacy skills
  • Experience in peacebuilding or conflict resolution
  • Understanding of community development principles and practices
  • Willingness to travel to target villages for fieldwork, which may involve overnight stays
  • Comprehensive knowledge of community media and its role in development
  • Excellent English communication skills (both written and spoken)
  • Positive attitude, open to feedback, and supportive of teamwork
  • Strong planning, and computer skills
