Mobilizing and Media Officer (1 post)

Building Community voices (BCV) is vibrant Cambodian NGO which aims to promote the collective voice of marginalized people in order they are able to secure their rights. BCV promotes community capacity for expression through community networking advocacy, community media. BCV is seeking qualified Cambodian national to fill the position of Mobilizing and Media Officer based in Pursat Province.

Duties:

• Develop basic training and awareness raising materials
• Provide technical consultation and training to community on media skill (community radio, video editing, article writing, blog and community journalist)
• Work with community media productions team and community radio volunteer.
• Participate in community media activities in any event organize in Pursat or others
• Assist Project Coordinator to develop contacts and network with other organizations working on community media team
• Assist Project Coordinator to develop activity plans and facilitate community meeting at the ground
• Cooperation with other NGO network and other stakeholders to ensure project goal and objectives are met.
• Writing case study to address project outcomes and submit to project coordinator
• Conduct field visit and monitoring at target areas
• Write progressive reports submit to Project Coordinator

Requirements

• Experience working with communities at the ground
• Strong sense of initiative and ability to work independently;
• Ability to implement assigned tasks/functions in an efficient manner
• Be able to work as a team and good communication
• University degree or equivalent in media communication or relevant experiences
• Presentation and facilitation skill is an asset.
• At least one year relevant experience in communication, community media and/or community mobilizing
• Skill of Microsoft office including word processing, spreadsheet, power point and internet & email.
• Experiences of video editing, content writer, community journalist is an advantage.
• Knowledge of social media platform is an asset
• Working knowledge of English and Native in Khmer
